Workshop 2: Optimising Rehabilitation Practice with Advanced Rehabilitation Technology

The current trend in neurorehabilitation is the utilisation of advanced rehabilitation technology to augment conventional approaches in the rehabilitation of patients with neurological disorders. This workshop aims to provide rehabilitation professionals with a broad overview of the various forms of cutting edge rehabilitation technology, such as robotics, virtual reality, to facilitate neuroplasticity and hence promote motor recovery in neurological patients.

Presented by inter-disciplinary rehabilitation professionals from Tan Tock Seng Hospital Rehabilitation Centre, the workshop will cover the following agenda:

  • Principles of Neuroplasticity and Motor Learning and its Application to Robotic Gait Training
  • An overview of Non-invasive Brain Stimulation (NIBS) for Motor Recovery and State of the Art
  • Technology in Rehabilitation: Engineer's Perspectives
  • Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) applications in the clinic: Are We Both ready?
