CLINICAL MUSCULOSKELETAL ULTRASOUND COURSE FOR PHYSICIANS

This basic musculoskeletal course is an excellent starting point for physicians interested in point-of-care ultrasound in their routine examination of patients. Anatomical regions of interest covered during this course are the shoulder, hip and knee. In the Stratification Guidelines workshop, participants will be equipped to use a framework to guide stroke management. With the framework in place, different strategies will be covered for stratified stroke patients in patient management. Participants will get a chance to practice using TTSH Rehab Stratification via interactive discussions. Guidelines for interventions will also be introduced.

Lastly, strategies to maximise manpower efficiency and resource management will also be shared.

Specific applications for people with aphasia, dysarthria, apraxia, and cognitive communication disorders will then be shared, with hands on practice and case studies used for discussion.

This workshop will discuss the principles, concepts and applications of managing and rehabilitating visual impairment. Participants will learn the overview of low vision rehabilitation, assessments and interventions, low vision aids, integration and participation in mainstream education. The interdisciplinary role of optometry, occupational therapy, orientation and mobility training, and community-based rehabilitation in managing individuals with low vision will also be presented. Hands-on sessions and case studies will be used to highlight specific assessments and rehabilitative strategies.
